Spring 2011

Jeff took these pictures yesterday of the Cherry Blossoms in our backyard.

Oh Spring, how fabulous you are. It's like having the best opening act for the best performance ever.... summer I can't wait for you to arrive, but spring is sure a great intro.

FLOWERS!

I cut these flowers from our yard today! It's so nice to have a mature yard. We have a little bit of maintenance to do but for the most part it's gorgeous the way it is. Loving it! :)

FIRST DAY!!

Well, we got the keys at noon today and after 5 months of having the 2 of us and 3 dogs living in a one bedroom basement suite we were ready to start living here ASAP... and so far we've already moved a ton of stuff and are living in the new house. Jeff's also moved in all the wood for the flooring, and already pulled up most of the carpet we can't wait to get rid of.

We've been pretty excited about moving into this house, and we're finding more and more things we like about it. Here's a little list....
- I like that we can see a glimpse of the ocean from our new house.
- I'm excited that we'll be doing some reno's - it'll make the place have so much more character to me - it'll be more ours.
- I also love that the mail comes to the mailbox beside our frontdoor (every other place I've lived in BC it's come to a community mailbox at the end of the block).
- I think the dogs are going to love living here.
- Katie is pumped that she has big yard to rip around in.
- Stella as already found some cozy spots in which to hide from noise. I think her mind will blow one day when she finds out there are cats next door and deer wandering the streets and balls to fetch in the yard.
- Bear likes hanging out at the top of the stairs, and I think he will be super excited when he finds out our morning walks could easily involve waves - only a few blocks away!
- Jeff loves having a garage again.
- We both love the fact that our neighborhood (even within a 1km radius) already contains lots of friends, including some that have already (we've lived here less than 12 hrs!) invited us over for hot tubbing. Sweet.
- It's so cool that the Departure Bay ferry is only 5 minutes away - this means day-trips to (and from!) the mainland have just become that much more simple and quick.

I'm sure the list will grow.

Over and out for tonight.
